Jhamtse Gatsal, a chldren’s community

Act of Giving awards $10,000 to Jhamtse Gatsal (Tibetan for “Garden of Love and Compassion”), a children’s community in the foothills of the Himalayas. About 90 children, abandoned, neglected or simply from families too impoverished to care for them, have been taken in. With active love and compassion, Buddhist Monk Lobsang (shown) and the staff raise and school them, enabling emotional well-being, happiness and resilience.
