Getting Involved with Act of Giving
There are many ways to get involved with Act of Giving. As a starting
point, you may wish to attend an event to meet us and learn more about
how we implement our mission. For information, write us using the form
below.
Different ways to get involved:
- Become an "I want to party with you!" Giver: Contribute funds of any dollar amount. With Act of Giving, financial gifts are greatly maximized because our organization is volunteer based. Less than 6% of our funds go to
operating and administrative expenses.
- Become a "Count me in" Voting Member: Voting Membership in Act of Giving is based on a personal and/or fundraised contribution of $240 - $599 on an annual basis.
Members may vote on grant proposals and administrative issues.
- Become an "I have an agenda" Proposing Member: Proposiong membership in Act of Giving is given to those who contribute or raise between $600 - $1199 on an annual basis. At this level you may submit grant proposals reflecting nonprofits they wish Act of Giving to financially support. This level also votes on all grant-making and
administrative issues.
- Become a "This gets me more beer at the party, right?" Sustaining Member: So maybe it doesn’t really get you more beer, but for any donations of $1200 or more a year, it does give you all the perks of the voting and proposing members while also putting your name higher on the website. Height matters, right? This is a great level for those wanting to see bigger grants given to the proposed organizations.
- Become a "My CPA made me do it" Humanitarian: If you're looking for a place to make that big donation of over $6,000 a year, look no further. We might even give you a back rub.
Although not required, members and partners also participate on one or more of the following committees:
- Finance
- Stewardship
- Communications
- Grants
Being involved with Act of Giving is a great learning opportunity
for those who are inspired by teamwork, researching non profit work,
and a commitment to social change. There are no limits to what you can
contribute and learn. Thanks in advance for your interest!
How to Donate
You may donate any amount through Network for Good (See link provided at the bottom of each page). Network for Good charges 4% for each donation.
You may also donate via PayPal. Just enter info@actofgiving.org as the recipient and include your interest level and contact info the comments. If you have a linked bank account to Paypal you won't be charged any fee.
